Sex appeal doesn't just lie in shedding your inhibitions. It's about sass, class, carrying yourself, confidence and above all. Attitude. There was the standard, typical unnecessary skin show by wannabe starlets on screen this year, but that wasn't really our bag. Instead, these were the ladies that stood out for us with their subtle sex appeal, and to be fair, hardly any of them will come as much of a surprise.

ANUSHKA SHARMA

We're not sure whether it's 'The Virat Factor' or something else, but Anushka has this new found confidence which seems to be seeping through in both her performances as well as her red carpet appearances. There's nothing quite as sexy as confidence, and we definitely like this new side of Anushka. Keep it sassy girl.

DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Be it her appearances on screen or off it, Deepika ensured our faces were consistently set to stun. Whether it was her quirky promotional outfits or her on screen ensembles in Piku (simple and chic), Tamasha (contemporary and stylish), or her heart melting 'adaah' in Anju Modi's dazzling creations in Bajirao Mastani, Deepika kept us on our toes all year round.

PARINEETI CHOPRA

Parineeti was nowhere to be seen this year. She was missing on celluloid, and off screen too she did very little to entice the media. And now we know why. At the end of last month she made a splash with a sexy, slender new avatar, by unveiling a body she'd probably killed herself to achieve, and to put it simply, she looked uh-mazing. She's really upped her fashion game too and admittedly, although we like this sultry new diva, we can't help but wonder whether her appeal lied in her girl next door avatar. What say you? Either way, we do believe in the age old adage that if you look good you feel good, and Parineeti is the perfect testament to that!

PRIYANKA CHOPRA

Priyanka's fashion sense has always been on point, heck she even featured in a game changing author backed film all about it, so it's no surprise that this year too PC sizzled – be it in those low cut gowns for her Quantico appearances, or her outings promoting her films. On screen, it was mostly Alex Parrish that sent the Mercury of the charts – her chemistry with co-star Jake McLaughlin made us swoon, and those few seconds when she climbs out of a pool in that swimsuit in one of the latter episodes, left both the extras and us agape. 

SONAM KAPOOR

Sonam's always dressed well, heck until recently that's all that the media talked about, but this year whether it was her coy sex appeal and come hither eyes in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, her boisterous roguish act in Dolly Ki Doli or on the ramp, Sonam oozed exuberance and confidence in a way that we haven't quiet seen her carry of until now. And you know what? It suits her brazen, 'I don't give a damn' attitude, so we say keep at it gurl!
