Sex sells. Our B-Town belles know that all too well. They’re getting bolder year on year, and this year too was no different.

Whittling down a list to just five proved to be incredibly difficult, and yes there were the obvious unabashed displays of brazen sexuality, (Sunny Leone in Ragini MMS 2 being the prime example), but we wanted the not so obvious candidates in the list. After all, subtlety can be sexy too.

In the end we narrowed it down to these divas – some were obvious choices, and others not so much. Read on to see which beauty made the cut, and let us know if you agree with our choices in the comments section below!

DEEPIKA PADUKONE – HAPPY NEW YEAR

For the second year running DP continued to dazzle both in terms of her looks as well as her performances. 

As Angie in Finding Fanny, she went all out with her chemistry with Arjun Kapoor, but it was her show stopping act in Happy New Year, as spunky bar dancer Mohini where she got many a pulse racing. 

Her smokin’ hot avatar in the ‘Lovely’ number was admittedly a little in your face, but there are no two ways about it – Deepika owned it. And how.

KATRINA KAIF – BANG BANG

If Bang Bang and her performance were even a fraction as good as the way she looked in the film, then we'd have undoubtedly had a winner in our hands.

Styled to perfection, and raising the oomph quotient to the stratosphere in a few of the songs, Katrina's heavenly looks were woefully wasted in possibly one of the worst films in recent times.

MADHURI DIXIT – DEDH ISHQIYA

Madhuri Dixit is nearing 50, and yet, still has the ability to get pulses racing with her unique ‘adah’ and flirtatious mannerisms. Don’t believe us? Check out her turn as the bewitching and seductive widowed ‘begum’ with an agenda in Dedh Ishqiya, which goes to show that you can be covered from head to toe in Indian attire and still ooze sex appeal.

Her playful banter with Naseerudin Shah reminded us why she was considered one of the most sexiest actresses in her prime, and over the years despite being a mother of two, the actress clearly still has it. Dr. Sriram Nene is one lucky man that’s for sure.  

PRIYANKA CHOPRA – GUNDAY

Did you catch PC’s saucy Moulin Rouge-esque shimmy in Gunday’s ‘Asalaam E Ishqum’? That number was shot three days after her father’s death. Now if that isn’t dedication we’re not sure what is.

Coming back to the song, PC’s styling was nothing like it used to be in the 70s (the era in which the film was set), but that minor niggle aside, she raised enough oomph in this provocative, burlesque inspired number to not just dazzle co-stars Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, but possibly the entire male populace. SHRADDHA KAPOOR – UNGLI

When Basanti dances the world watches. Shraddha Kapoor had quite a mixed bag this year. From a grating performance in Ek Villain, to a sensitive one in Vishal Bhardwaj's Hamlet adaptation Haider, and finally this. 'Dance Basanti' – a scorching item number with Emraan Hashmi – perhaps the only highlight of this ho hum, stuck in the cans Dharma Production, Ungli. A part of us wished the film was about Basanti and not the silly farce of a film that we ultimately got in the end.
