Deepika elated at the success of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'
Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which has had a dream weekend in practically all circuits (minting a cool Rs.62.11 crore/£720,000 approx), has surprised even Deepika Padukone who wasn't expecting such huge numbers for the youthful romance.
"Somewhere we started feeling it when we were promoting last week — there was a massive buzz. It was a great feeling," said Padukone to IANS.
"People today are aware of box office and how much it is going to do. We were expecting it to collect a certain figure, but the collection has surpassed our expectations. It is a feeling we can't even explain," added the actress.
"Honestly, I never really enjoy discussing numbers. It feels great when people say that the film has opened as that is what you want at the end of the day," she went on.
Meanwhile, the actress is also happy with the critics who have raved about the film, and more importantly her performance in it.
"What is even more overwhelming is that along with the numbers you have great reviews. This is what you want to achieve with your films. You want the numbers to be successful and it should have great reviews too," she said.
Post the success of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Padukone is keen to team up with Ranbir Kapoor again.
"We are definitely looking forward to working with each other again. It is great to know that people are liking us and I am looking forward to working with him soon," she finished off.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani also stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin and is currently playing in cinemas all over.
