First Look: Chris Evans in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Marvel continues their legacy with a second batch of films, after the first lot (especially Avengers Assemble) shattered box office records last year. Along with the Iron Man and Thor sequels, a sequel to Captain America was always in the pipeline, so it comes as no surprise then that Marvel and Disney today announced that principal filming on Captain America: The Winter Soldier began today in Los Angeles. And we already have a still from the film for you right here.

The most exciting bit of news about the sequel is the inclusion of Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, who will return to co-star in the film as Black Widow and Nick Fury, respectively.

Not much is known about the plot except a brief outline thanks to a press release from Disney/Marvel:

Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

In addition to Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, the film also stars Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, Toby Jones, Sebastian Stan, Robert Redford and Anthony Mackie as The Falcon.

Captain America: The Winter Solder releases worldwide on 4 April 2014.

Meanwhile, check out the trailer of Iron Man 3 which hits theatres on 26 April 2013.
