Shootout At Wadala is one of my best performances
Shootout At Wadala has been in the news a fair bit recently. From Priyanka Chopra's item number, to Kangana Ranaut being upset with the filmmakers, this film's PR sure knows what it's doing! The latest on Ekta Kapoor's gangster flick is that the film's lead John Abraham is expecting a National Award for his performance, which he feels is his best til date.
"This is one of the best performances of my career. I hope to get the appreciation - critically and commercially, and if I get the National Award, then that will be great," the 40-year-old said to NDTV on Tuesday at the film's music launch.
The film is inspired by gangster Manya Surve's life, with Abraham playing the lead.
"Right now we are just thinking about success and performance, so let's hope for the best," he added.
"For me, Shootout At Wadala is a completely different film. Audiences are going to be shocked seeing me in this film, in this role," Abraham continued.
"I am very excited and would like to say to the audiences that 'I hope I don't disappoint you all and I hope that you will enjoy the film'," he finished off.
Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Shootout At Wadala also stars Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Kangana Ranaut and Mahesh Manjrekar. It releases on 1 May.
