Kareena Kapoor will continue to work after marriage

Kapoor, who got married to Saif Ali Khan last year feels that marriage will not affect her career

Whilst our western counterparts have no issues whatsoever with married actresses and they continue casting them in lead roles in top line films, a married actress in B-Town has always been frowned upon. As soon as an actress gets married, she's often demoted to supporting characters, as the general consensus is that male audiences don't see them as objects of desire anymore. Of course that trend has changed with actresses like Kajol who continue to get lead roles and churn out the hits. It's a refreshing and welcome trend. Kareena Kapoor too feels that times have changed.

When asked by NDTV whether marriage has changed things for her in Bollywood:

"It is nothing like that. Earlier we have had actresses like Waheeda Rehmanji, Sharmilaji and others who continued to work (after marriage) and did good films. It is all a media created thing that marriage changes things for an actress. People still like to see the films of all the heroines. I would continue to work as an actress. Since childhood acting has been my passion and it will remain so. I will die as an actress...may be on a film set only," she said.

Bebo's passion should be applauded. She is currently shooting for Punit Malhotra's Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (with Imran Khan) and Satyagraha where she will be seen with Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan.
