Parineeti Chopra gets picky

Chopra prefers quality over quantity.

Most actresses believe in the age old adage of making hay while the sun shines. They sign as many releases as possible to remain in the limelight, but it seems relative newbie Parineeti Chopra prefers quality over quantity. The latest on the young lass is that she's turned down a role opposite Siddharth Malhotra in an upcoming film which was due to roll in August.

"We were keen to cast Parineeti opposite Siddharth. But she's already doing another film with him. So we now have to look for someone else," said director D'Souza to Bollywood Hungama.

"As I wasn't signing anything new, people seemed to think I'm not getting work. I want to make it clear that I am doing enough work. People don't seem to realize I am just a year old in the movies. My debut film Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl was released in December 2011. I've had two releases already! And I've two major endorsement deals in my bag," said Chopra.

"I think it's wrong for people to think I am doing too little work. I can't be doing five releases at the same time. I've signed three new films. That makes me one of the busier actors this year. Trust me, I had lots of offers."

Earlier Chopra also turned down the remake of the Tamil film Thupakki with Akshay Kumar which ultimately went to Sonakshi Sinha.

"It'd be the easiest thing in the world for me to sign films for the money. But the roles I got required me to play the typical heroine which I am not willing to do. On the Friday when those films release, I don't want my parents to be embarrassed. I don't want to have to explain to my father why I did a certain film."

I want to sing and dance and be glamorous on screen. I loved Deepika Padukone's role in Cocktail. It has songs- dances- glamour, and yet it had a graph," she concluded.

Well one thing is for certain. The youngster certainly seems to have got her priorities straight.

Chopra will be seen in Maneesh Sharma's next, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, Anurag Kashyap-Karan Johar's joint production, Hasee Toh Phasee, opposite Siddharth Malhotra and Shaad Ali's Kill Dil alongside Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar.
