Sooraj Pancholi gets respite in Jiah Khan case
The Bombay High Court earlier today, Monday 1 July, granted bail to Sooraj Pancholi, the young actor who was accused of abetting the suicide of actress Nafisa alias Jiah Khan.
Sooraj, son of actor Aditya Pancholi, has been ordered to pay a surety of Rs.50,000, surrender his passport and report to police whenever required for investigations. He was arrested on 11 June 2013, on the grounds of abetting Jiah's suicide after the actress' family recovered a letter penned by her a few days after her death last month.
A sessions court earlier rejected Sooraj's bail plea on 21 June following which he moved to the high court.
The New York-born Jiah - who acted in films like Housefull, and Ghajini - was found hanging in her apartment on 3 June 2013.
