Feature: The Dark Side of Fashion

As many of you avid moviegoers will already know, Fashion (फैशन) was the controversial 2008 film that depicts the darker side of the fashion world where the cost of success can be a huge price to pay when following your dreams. Alcohol and drugs can easily consume and even destroy however also push others to new heights from otherwise rock bottom.
The film gained actresses Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranaut vast recognition, especially at the 56th National Film Awards, for their powerful portrayals (Best Actress & Best Supporting Actress respectively) of individuals caught in a ruthless world of exclusive fashion where all that glitters is not always gold.
As Bollywood films continue to push the boundaries with their plot and content, tackling bigger and more modern issues, it is on the flip side virtually impossible to not focus on the actual fashion found in the film Fashion.
Bright colours, wild patterns and layered textures bring out the striking yet luxurious haute couture banquet on display for the eyes. Sweeping fabrics engulf the models and true to form colour is key with every outfit. Harsh metals and jewels balance out the soft feathers and silks therefore there is definitely something for everyone here whether you love fashion or not.
