Box Office: Race 2 opens to packed houses

Race 2 has opened to packed houses.

Despite negative reviews, the sequel to the 2008 smash hit Race has taken a strong start at multiplexes across India. 

According to Box Office India, Race 2 collected in the region of nearly Rs. 14 crore (£164,000 approx.) making it the biggest ever opening for Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

The film's collections are set to soar further with 26 January being a public holiday in India.

Abroad too the film has taken a strong start and with no strong opposition in the coming fortnight, the film is set to strike box office gold.
