Ajay Devgn disappointed with Himmatwala debacle
Confidence is good. Over confidence however can be detrimental. Which is exactly what has happened with Sajid Khan's Himmatwala. The film which was expected to shatter records upon release has been universally panned by audiences and critics alike, and is Ajay Devgn's first box office disappointment in a while after a string of successes like Singham, Bol Bachchan and Son Of Sardaar.
Apparently, post the dud, word has it that Devgn has asked director Rohit Shetty to speed up on the work on their next film, to help him erase the bitter memories of his recent release.
An industry insider says, “This was the first time Ajay had stepped out of his comfort zone of working with directors like Rohit Shetty, Prakash Jha or Ashwini Dheer to join hands with Sajid. He is extremely disappointed with the film’s results.”
Another source close to the actor adds, “Ajay wants to restore his lost glory at the BO and has asked his trusted aide Rohit to speed up things on their next. They have done nine films together out of which eight have been hits.”
Devgn will next be seen in Prakash Jha's Satyagraha which sees him with Amitabh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor among others.
