Anurag Basu's Kishore Kumar biopic postponed
Basu's ambitious biopic has now been postponed to sometime next year.
Singer Kishore Kumar lived a pretty colourful and interesting life. It's no surprise then that filmmakers have always been keen to translate it on to celluloid.
Director Anurag Basu already has a script ready and a lead hero in Ranbir Kapoor. Unfortunately, his ambitious biopic that was set to roll later this year has now been postponed to sometime next year.
"I am writing three films right now and will select one of them and then make it. This is because the biopic of Kishore Kumar will take a lot of time and now it might start next year," said Basu at an event earlier this week.
"But before that, I have to make another film. It will start soon by April or May. So the preparations for that are going on," he added.
While Kapoor is already on board to play the eccentric singer, the hunt for a female lead is on. Rumour had it that Katrina Kaif had bagged the part but that was merely speculation.
