Anushka Sharma's excited about 'Bombay Velvet'
Anushka Sharma who was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's kooky comedy Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, has moved on from its debacle and is now focusing on a period film, Bombay Velvet, which she's just started shooting for in Sri Lanka.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bombay Velvet sees the vivacious actress paired opposite heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor for the first time.
"I am really excited and looking forward to joining the crew of Bombay Velvet in Sri Lanka. I have always wanted to work with Anurag and I am glad that I am going to be a part of his biggest celluloid dream yet. I am sure it is going to be an unforgettable experience. Fingers crossed," she said in a recent interview.
Anushka will be shooting for 40 days in Sri Lanka to complete her first schedule.
Co-produced by Fox Star Studios and Phantom Films, Bombay Velvet is set in Mumbai and the story covers 1950s to 1970s. It is the first film of a trilogy on how the city became a metropolis.
Bit on the side
Rumour mills have been abuzz as to how Anushka doesn't see eye to eye with Katrina Kaif, with whom she starred with in Yash Chopra's swan song Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Apparently, the two actresses avoid each other as much as possible, so much so that Anushka, who was to join the shoot of Bombay Velvet only joined the cast after Katrina, who was there spending time with alleged beau, Ranbir returned to Mumbai.
Whether Katrina is miffed with Anushka for stealing her thunder in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, or whether she's annoyed with her growing proximity with Ranbir is not yet known.
Our guess is a mix of the two.
