'Once Upon A Time...' renamed and postponed
It seems better sense has prevailed and Ekta Kapoor/Balaji Telefilms have decided to postpone the release of their gangster sequel by a week to avoid a head on clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Chennai Express.
And that's not all. The title of forthcoming film has been changed at the last minute from Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara.
It's not clear as to what prompted this move — was it to make it more mass friendly by adding a Hindi word to the title? Was it numerology? Only Ekta Kapoor can answer that one.
"Yes, the movie has been renamed as Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara and it will be released on Aug 15," said Girish Johar, Head of Distribution and Acquisition, Balaji Motion Pictures, to IANS.
Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobara sees Akshay Kumar in a role based on underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim, and is essentially a love triangle between his character, Aslam (played by Imran Khan) and Yasmin (Sonakshi Sinha). The film is directed by Milan Luthria who last scored up a hit with The Dirty Picture in 2011. Let's see if he's as lucky this time round.
