'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero' opens well at box office
Shahid Kapoor is a talented actor, but unlike his contemporaries he's had a few misfires at the box office (Mausam, Teri Meri Kahaani).
Fortunately for him, his latest comic caper, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, has taken a good opening at the box office in India where it released this morning. In fact it's the actor's biggest opening yet, which bodes well for him, director Raj Kumar Santoshi and lead actress Ileana D'Cruz who's trying to establish herself in Tinsel Town.
According to figures compiled by Box Office India, the film opened in the region of 40-50%, with the best collections coming in from UP, CI and Rajasthan, however the opening in regions of Punjab were at best, ordinary.

Phata Poster Nikhla Hero has stiff competition from last week's lewd comedy Grand Masti, however both initial reviews and word of mouth for the film are positive, so it will more than likely sail through at the box office.
Phata Poster Nikhla Hero is produced by Ramesh Taurani and also stars Saurabh Shukla, Sanjay Mishra, Padmini Kolhapure and Nargis Fakhri and Salman Khan in cameos.
