Priyanka Chopra gives her nod to first item number
Unlike her contemporaries Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone or even Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra has never given her consent to an item number, except in a stray Billu Barber (2009) and here too she was seen in a dream sequence with SRK. Looks like all that's about to change though. Word is that Chopra will finally be doing her first fully fledged item number in Sanjay Gupta's Shootout at Wadala.
The song has been titled 'Babli Badmaash Hai', and surprisingly will have no innuendos or suggestive dance moves. Chopra agreed to do the song only after she screened the song and made it flatly clear to both Gupta and producer Ekta Kapoor that she wouldn't dance to any inappropriate lyrics.
“Three songs were run past her. She finally flipped for 'Babli Badmaash Hai'. The song has been composed by Anu Malik and will be sung by Sunidhi Chauhan," said a source to Mumbai Mirror.
“When PC heard the song, she thought it was R.D. Burman meeting Feroz Khan. Glamour yes, but no vulgarity,” added the source.
Apparently the song will have a retro feel and will be at the centre of the films promotional drive.
“Mark my words, it will be the track of the year,” said Kapoor in a news byte.
Shootout at Wadala stars John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor and Sonu Sood. It releases on 1 May.
