Ranbir Kapoor dismisses Besharam-Mental box office clash

​Kapoor is unaware of Besharam clashing with Mental.

Last month we reported that Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor's films Mental and Besharam were due to release on the same day.​ However, in a recent interview to the Hindustan Times, Kapoor insisted he didn't know about the highly publicised box office clash and that he wan only focusing on the shooting of Besharam and nothing else.

“I don’t know much about it (the clash) because ultimately, it’s the producer’s prerogative to take a call on release dates. Ideally, there should be no clash, as there is enough space to accommodate all films. Right now, I am only focusing on the shooting of Besharam,” says Ranbir, who is currently wrapping up the film in question.

Whilst not much is known about Mental, Besharam stars Pallavi Sharda, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor and sees Ranbir in a streetsmart avatar for the first time.​ The film is directed by Abhinav Kashyap.

The stakes are high so lets hope one of the films' producers sees sense and backs out.
