Emraan wants actresses to get credit for 'Ek Thi Daayan'
The supernatural thriller Ek Thi Daayan, which released on Friday, seems to be picking up at the box office after a shaky start. And the film's lead Emraan Hashmi, who's rather pleased with the film's success, interestingly, wants the audiences to appreciate the performances of the actresses (Huma Qureshi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Kalki Koechlin)
more than himself.
"I will be very happy if all the three women get their due in the film. They are better than me. I will be more than happy," the 34 year-old said to IANS.
On being asked if he feels he is competing with the three actresses in the film, and if he fears being overshadowed by them:
"Competition is only with those people, whose film is releasing alongside on Friday and never with one's own team." said the actor, who's been a part of films like Jannat 2, Murder 2, The Dirty Picture and Raaz 3.
Hashmi is happy with the way the film shaped up and is being lapped up by audiences.
"There have been many screenings (of Ek Thi Daayan) since the last two days. And as an actor, we lose the objectivity a little as our love is attached with the film. But when we get the same response from others, it's exciting," said Hashmi.
"So we are very excited. People are saying that this is the best horror film of our country. So, I am really excited to see their reaction towards the weekend," he added.
