John Abraham in Sanjay Gupta’s next
Nothing succeeds like success. Just ask Sanjay Gupta and John Abraham, both of whom are basking in the success of Shootout At Wadala, which released last week (3 May 2013). So pleased are they with the outcome of the film, that they're all set to work together again in an action-revenge saga, which according to director Gupta will be “totally new for Indian screens.”
"We have already found one (script), but this is not the best time to announce it. Yes, we will take the Shootout franchise forward, but before that John and I will be doing another film," Gupta said to IANS.
"We are getting ready for that and it'll be a big action-revenge saga, something never seen on Indian screens. Hopefully, we will surpass Manya Surve," he added.
Apparently, Abraham recently gifted Gupta with a motorbike as a gesture of gratitude for giving him a career defining role in Shootout At Wadala.
"This I have done only for Sanjay because we share a special relationship. We have been in touch since the time of Zinda. I would surely not do this for anyone else. I would love to gift him another bike, hopefully, if we have another hit," the actor said.
The actor plays gangster Manya Surve in the the Balaji production which also stars Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor, Manoj Bajpai and Mahesh Manjrekar. The film is playing in cinemas now.
