Priyanka, Rani get in shape for author backed parts

Physical trainer Samir Jaura who's busy training Rani Mukerji and Priyanka Chopra for their author backed parts in Mardaani and the biopic on Mary Kom respectively, talks about training the actresses and how he went about their fitness regimes.

Rani needs to lose at least 13 kg for her part as a tough, no nonsense cop in Yash Raj Films' Mardaani.

"I'm training Rani for Mardaani and she will be losing around 12 to 13 kg for the film. We started training two weeks back and she has already lost 3 kg," Jaura said in a statement to IANS.

Both Priyanka Chopra and Rani Mukerji are being trained by trainer Samir Jaura

Mardaani is helmed by Pradeep Sarkar, who had earlier directed Rani in the film Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.

Jaura is also busy training Priyanka Chopra for the Mary Kom biopic, and was also behind Farhan Akhtar's lean look in the upcoming Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

For PC, Jaura insists on not building extra muscles as it might ruin her femininity.

In the biopic, the actress plays the Olympic bronze medalist Mary Kom and the film is directed by Omung Kumar.

"We are working on building her muscles, but I don't want her to build extra muscles. I want her curves to get the right look, and not ruin the femininity."

Jaura vouches for Priyanka's hard work and dedication.

"Priyanka was very close to her father. When he passed away , I thought it will not be easy for her to come out of it, and the film will get delayed. But she is highly professional and she joined back within eight days and started working hard to get the right look," he said.

Both films are due for release early next year.
